PROGRESS
Week 12
We will be given a selection of silent movie video clips in Google Drive for the final project. We are responsible for creating the sound and bringing the movie to life. We had to record all of the sound effects and background music ourselves, but we can also use some sounds from the internet.
Hollow Knight is the video I chose for this project. First and foremost, I attempted to record the water drop, footstep, door, and raining sounds on my iPhone X. I then imported them into Adobe Audition for editing. Some of the sounds, such as cave, sword, and creature startle, I had no idea how to record, so I downloaded from Freesound.org.
Figure 0.1: Cave ambience
I began by stacking up different types of sounds that will be found in the cave in order to create the cave ambience, I also needed to make it more game-ish like sound so I also added some dramatic cave sounds to it.
Figure 0.2: Water drip sound
To create that water drips I recorded them on my phone in my toilet but it still doesn't have enough cave-ish sound to it, so I decide to add reverb effects to it. But, in the end I did not apply those sounds into the game because it just didn't sound right.
Figure 0.3: Wing flapping sound
I got the wing flapping sounds from the internet but it was too fast pace for the creature in game. Thus, I had to stretch the audio in multitrack then adjust EQ to get the sound I want.
Figure 0.4: Multitrack
I then imported all of the sounds in multitrack accordingly and follow the video reference.
