The second part you can continue after the shooting test on campus/or individual.

PROGRESS

WORKING TITLE: OPPORTUNITY

STOP MOTION TYPE: Cutout Animation

THEME (SOCIAL ISSUE): Job Promotion Issue

SYNOPSIS (ONE PARAGRAPH ONLY):

A hard working and kind worker is experiencing the opportunity to get himself a job promoted. On the other hand, his colleague only has to flatter everyone in order to get promoted. Why is it that he can't get the job promotion? Perhaps being hard working isn’t enough for one to actually get chosen for the job promotion. Going far and trying to learn what it is that he is missing, or is he really fine with how things are going?

VISUAL REFERENCES/MOOD BOARDS (rational, screen shots & Links):

  • TITLE01: Only Life/ 命ばっかり- by Eve

Mostly getting Visual Reference
This is only just a music video that I would like to achieve the same kind of energy as having a main character in the video being hard working and maybe to show an emotion of the character like how they feel and what they decided to do.

The art style also attracted my attention a lot which is just a simple neutral colour and simple art for the video to work.

  • TITLE02:  Paper • Short Film - by Mat-a Freelance

Getting Concept Ideations
The stop motion concept for this video is like using many different draw outs on papers to create animation. They did not use fixed paper cut outs to shoot different positions or actions, which makes them have to draw out many different poses on the paper and then only cut them out to do the stop motion.

The style in this stop motion also seems pretty simple and neutral colors. As for the luminosity in this video, it is dark and cold-tone all the way through until the end part it goes bright and warm-tone.

Getting Concept Ideations
The concept of this paper cut out stop motion is rather interesting, where its motions are changed by adjusting the joints from the body parts. I like how this concept works as well because this actually only needs one fixed paper cut out in order to perform the animations. But still, this also needs time to get the joints right and make the actions smooth.

The style of the scene transition also seems interesting as it goes only back and forth within the same areas or rooms. This shows that the character in this video is just living the life of a loop with jobs and home only.
